Jackson Unger and Brayden Yager were key parts of a victory for Team White on Wednesday night at the 2023 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Unger made 21 saves and Yager picked up an assist in Team White’s 4-2 win over Team Red at the Langley Events Centre.

Yager, who served as an assistant captain for Team White, set up Owen Sound Attack forward Colby Barlow for Team White’s opening goal of the game.

The Warriors forward finished with two shots and went 6-for-14 in face-offs during the game.

Unger came in for the final 28 minutes of the game, turning away 21 of 22 shots to split a 45-save win with Seattle Thunderbirds goalie Scott Ratzlaff.

The game was tied at 1-1 after one, but Team White struck for three straight goals from Carson Rehkopf, Luca Pinelli and Calum Ritchie to take a 4-1 lead late in the third period.

Winnipeg ICE forward Zach Benson added a goal for Team Red in the final minute.

Yager and Unger will now rejoin the Warriors for two big home games this weekend as the Brandon Wheat Kings come to town on Friday and the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday.
