Hub Diaries: Tate Popple

Well, week one is just about in the books and it has been uneventful.

Everyone has been in quarantine since we arrived last Saturday, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say we cannot wait to have our first practice Friday morning.

This week has consisted of zoom workouts every morning with Brooksy (Athletic Therapist Brooke Kosolofski), and then a team meeting to go over some systems and video clips in the afternoon with the coaches.

On Tuesday, we had a special guest speaker to everyone in the Hub through Zoom.  Sheldon Kennedy spoke to us about a variety of things and had a great message about having fun, communicating with teammates, friends, and people you trust when things are not going the way you want them to be.  He also spoke about respecting the people around you in general, it was a great listen.

Guys pass the time differently, one of the ways is what you would expect, video games.  I knew I was bad at video games but it has now been confirmed that I am the worst player here at Call of Duty.

Video games and Netflix have played a huge role in trying to pass the time.  I am really into the show Superstore on Netflix, it is a nonstop comedy, I highly recommend it.

When March 3rd came up on the calendar, it marked another trip around the sun for this guy.  When I think about what a typical 21st birthday looks like, sitting in a dorm by myself is not exactly at the top of the list but in these circumstances, I would not want it any other way.

Like I said before, we are beyond excited to get back out on the ice Friday morning and get back to playing games again next week.

Until next time, I am going to enjoy Hub life, and do not forget…. GO WARRIORS!
