Hello Warrior fans and everyone else reading this, it is Boston Bilous, goaltender for the Moose Jaw Warriors!
Well, it has been just over one month in the hub. This is a first-time unique experience for most of my teammates and myself. I think most of the guys here can agree we did not know what to expect coming into this!
Thus far, the experience has been great. The hub has been super positive in so many ways; being with your teammates, creating forever lasting memories. Most importantly, getting the opportunity to play the great game of hockey again that all of us are truly blessed to do.
With that being said, hockey and this environment obviously have adversity that comes with it. However, throughout the good times and the downtimes, we have our great teammates and staff to lean on for the support we need.
We have tendencies and routines here, but I would say no day is the exact same. Practice times are always different, and some days not practicing to manage our rest as a team as it is very important for future success on the ice. Away from hockey at the dorms, we are just a bunch of 16 – 20-year-olds trying to keep busy with a variety of games!
Personally, I have been trying to get into reading. I have never been a book person but, I viewed this as a great opportunity to start! Along with that my mom is currently shipping a harmonica my way… we will see how that new hobby goes!
I want to say thank you, to everyone who has made this possible for us to chase our hockey dreams and a special thank you to all the frontline workers nationwide.
Speaking for all players… Fans, we hope you guys are staying safe! We look forward to seeing all of you in Mosaic place when the day comes!
