Baco & Rysavy returning for the 2022-23 season

The Moose Jaw Warriors are excited to welcome back import forwards Robert Baco and Martin Rysavy for the 2022-23 season.
With the import duo returning for the upcoming season, the Warriors have passed on its two selections in the 2022 CHL Import Draft held on Friday, July 1.
“We decided to keep both Europeans as we felt they are a good fit and with a year under their belts, they adapted well,” Warriors general manager Jason Ripplinger said. “They bought in and they know what it takes to be a Warrior.”
Baco made his Warriors’ debut during the 2021-22 season after being selected during the first round of the 2021 CHL Import Draft.
The Slovakian forward posted 12 goals and 28 points in 63 games.
He added one goal during eight playoff games as well.
“Baco brings skill and character,” Ripplinger said. “Baco plays a heavy game and will open up a lot ice for our skill players with his presence.”
Rysavy, a forward from the Czech Republic was originally selected sixth overall by the Warriors in the 2020 CHL Import Draft.
The Columbus Blue Jackets’ seventh round pick had eight goals and 26 points in 45 games during the 2021-22 season.
Rysavy added a goal and three points in 10 games during the playoffs.
Rysavy represented Czechia at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship.
“We think Rysavy can become an impact player for the team,” Ripplinger said. “He’s a power forward who can score goals and will help with our team’s leadership.”
Both imports will return for their second seasons in Moose Jaw, starting with training camp in early September.
