Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that WHL hockey will return to Shaw TV beginning Saturday, January 20, with the unveiling of WHL in 30 – a WHL feature Game of the Week – in a condensed 30-minute format. WHL in 30 will be produced by WHL TV and aired weekly on Shaw TV, the WHL’s community cable partner in Western Canada.

Every Saturday at 12 noon MT*, fans can take in the WHL in 30 feature Game of the Week on Shaw TV (Channel 10) and ShawDirect (Channel 299). WHL in 30 will also be available for encore viewing on YouTube with an interactive social component encouraging fans to come together and discuss all things WHL. You can also catch WHL in 30 at and via the Shaw Video on Demand system following the initial airing on Shaw TV.

“The WHL is very excited to be launching our new WHL in 30 Game of the Week show this weekend,” commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison. “WHL in 30 will allow the WHL to maintain weekly coverage of key WHL matchups through the balance of the regular season and playoffs while delivering the games in a condensed format, which we believe our fans will really enjoy.”

The WHL in 30 programming will be produced by Colin McQuillan, a former member of the WHL on Shaw broadcast crew. Former WHL on Shaw host Andy Neal also returns to WHL TV, lending his voice to WHL in 30. Fans will also be exposed to local talent, with each home Club’s play-by-play team providing commentary of each game featured on WHL in 30.

The WHL in 30 schedule will feature nine (9) WHL Regular Season games – one game per week for the remainder of the 2017-18 WHL regular season – beginning with an East Division clash between the WHL-leading Moose Jaw Warriors and Mastercard Memorial Cup host Regina Pats from the Brandt Centre.

The second week of WHL in 30 action will take fans west for a Georgia Strait rivalry tilt as the Victoria Royals visit the Vancouver Giants at the Langley Events Centre.
