Conexus Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame Weekend ended Saturday for the Moose Jaw Warriors with a 6-3 win over the Regina Pats at Mosaic Place.

After starting slow over their past two games, the Warriors made sure that changed on Saturday night when Kjell Kjemhus tipped in a shot from Carson Denomie to open the scoring just 29 seconds into the game.

The Pats would even the score just 4:31 later with a fluky goal, with a delayed penalty coming to Regina, the Warriors passed the puck from the neutral zone and it rolled into their empty net. Austin Pratt was credited with his 22nd of the season.

That goal slowed the Warriors down, but they found their legs again late in the period as the power play went to work and Jett Woo fired in a blast from the point with 1:21 left in the first to make it 2-1.

The second period saw the Warriors take control of the game and it started with an early goal from Tate Popple just 1:28 into the middle frame.

Regina struck back with a power-play goal from Sebastian Streu just past the midway point of the second, but Moose Jaw came right back as Brayden Tracey snapped in his 25th of the season only 1:23 later.

The Warriors extended their lead just 1:24 after that when Tracey set up Tristin Langan on a two-on-one and he finished off his 40th goal of the season to make it 5-2 for Moose Jaw after two.

Regina got some calls early in the third period and ended up on a lengthy two-man advantage, six minutes into the frame Ty Kolle scored on the 5-on-3 to make it a two-goal game.

The Pats pushed at moments throughout the third but the Warriors kept their offence off the board, Tate Popple finished the game with an empty-net goal inside the final minute of regulation.

Brayden Tracey led the Warriors with a goal and three points, Tate Popple scored two goals, Tristin Langan had a goal and two points, and Justin Almeida picked up two assists.

The Warriors finish up Family Day Long Weekend with a trip to Prince Albert Monday, catch all the action on Country 100 starting with the PreGame Show at 3:40pm.
