Brayden Tracey scored a hat-trick Friday night to lead the Moose Jaw Warriors to a 6-1 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers at Mosaic Place.

Both teams are known for their speed and they put that on display in the first period as they pushed up the ice and generated chances off the rush.

Approaching the nine-minute mark of the opening period, Brayden Tracey jumped in front of a Medicine Hat pass in the neutral zone and burst across the Tigers line and snapped a shot past Jordan Hollett for his 20th of the season.

Up a goal to start the second, Tristan Langan sprung Tracey for a breakaway where he scored his second of the game.

The Warriors added to their lead at 8:46.  While playing 4-on-4, Luke Ormsby came down the Medicine Hat left boards and swung the puck to the right circle for Brayden Tracey.  Tracey was able to skate his way between the circles where he scored his natural hat trick goal.

On the power play at the ten-minute mark and on the power play, the Warriors added to their lead when Keenan Taphorn scored his 12th of the season.

Moose Jaw made it 5-0 at 14:49 when Kjell Kjemhus drove the Tigers net and scored his first as a Warriors and first of the season.

Medicine Hat pushed in the third period, they outshot the Warriors 12-9 in the frame and got a goal from Ryan Chyzowski.  However, the Warriors went back up by five with a late goal from Justin Almeida to put the game away.

Brayden Tracey led the Warriors with three goals and four points, Justin Almeida finished with a goal and two points, Tristin Langan and Dalton Hamaliuk picked up two assists each, and Adam Evanoff made 33 saves.

Moose Jaw outshot the Tigers 37-34, they were 1-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

The Warriors open a 5-game road trip Saturday with a trip to Prince Albert to take on the East Division-leading Raiders.  Catch all the action on Country 100 starting with the PreGame Show at 6:40pm with James Gallo.
