It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Teddy Bear, Toque & Mitten Toss Games 2018-19

WHL Network

It’s a sure sign that we’re fast approaching the most wonderful time of the year.

Western Hockey League teams begin their annual run of Teddy Bear, Toque & Mitten Toss games Friday, November 30 (7:00 p.m. MT) when the Lethbridge Hurricanes host the Swift Current Broncos.

Each year, WHL teams come together to collect more than 50,000 items for local not-for-profit organizations throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest U.S.

While the Hurricanes and Broncos will kick-off the annual schedule of Teddy Bear, Toque & Mitten Toss games throughout the WHL, the Seattle Thunderbirds will provide the final act when the Victoria Royals head south of the border Saturday, January 19, 2019.

As custom has it, fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear, toque or set of mittens to their respective club’s designated game. At the scoring of the first goal for the home team, the teddies, toques and mittens will fly.

The Western Hockey League and its participating member clubs are proud to give back to those in need during the holiday season and throughout the year. Deepest gratitude is extended to those who help us spread some cheer during the holiday season.
